Metamophosis album cover
[edit]I see reverted the album cover image I uploaded, a while ago. I just thought it would make better sense to have an album cover image with the actual Metamorphosis text on the cover. Granted, the image you want is a lot more cleaner than the image I uploaded. The image without the Metamorphosis text is taken from photocopies of the actual CD cover, the image with the Metamorphosis text, is the web version and is a close representation of what the CD cover looks like from a far, with the Metamorphosis text on the CD binding. Anyway, I found this particular image [1], which may or may not be a larger image of the one uploaded. I think is particular image could be a compromise for the both of us (once its shrunk to fair use size), its not as clean as the photocopy, but its a lot more clear than the one I uploaded. Let me know what you think and if you don't want any further changes to the file, I won't bother you about this anymore. QuasyBoy (talk) 04:51, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- I know what you mean, but quite frankly, the Metamorphosis text is a part of the binding and not the cover itself. Maybe this should be asked at WP:ALBUMS or something? I don't really believe it should be included, but others may feel differently. I also believe there's a certain version where the Metamorphosis text appears beside the Hilary Duff text, but I'm not 100% positive. Statυs (talk) 05:18, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- Also, I just looked at my copy of the album, and the hair on the side doesn't appear on the binding of it. Statυs (talk) 05:20, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- This is what I'm talking about. It's used on iTunes. Statυs (talk) 05:38, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I know it exists. Do you think that is a better compromise? Also, I have the CD as well, the hair doesn't appear on the binding, but I don't that is a really big issue. But if the main purpose of the current image is to reflect the album cover and the album cover only, not the binding, let's just leave it as is. QuasyBoy (talk) 05:42, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

- Yes I support it. The Metamorphosis text is not used like that on the actual CD cover, in reality, the binding anyway, but the image very clear and the Metamorphosis text is used nonetheless. So I don't mind that one being used. QuasyBoy (talk) 05:56, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Billboard.biz alert
[edit]Hey, I noticed today that on Billboard.biz, if you go to archive and search for something (such as a song's peak date), you can get to the archived, full chart. Works the same for album and video charts as well. Here's an example of what I mean. I figured I would tell you since you are online. Anyway, if you need to find an chart archive date or something I would suggest you do it before they figure out. Toa Nidhiki05 02:47, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Woah, that's cool! I'm really not too much of a charts guy, so I don't think it would come in handy for me. xD I might take a look at a few. Thanks man! Statυs (talk) 02:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- I figured I'd tell you since it is much, much easier to make articles for non-singles if it appeared on a minor chart (apparently appearing in the lower edge of the UK chart is enough to let pretty much every Rihanna song have an article). I'm pretty sure this is some sort of accident, because Billboard charges a pretty penny for access, but I'm going to try and mass-archive pages with the web archive for however long this lasts. :DToa Nidhiki05 02:53, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, yes. I'm doing the same, just for reference if I wouldn't be able to find it elsewhere. Statυs (talk) 02:56, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yep, I just hope Billboard doesn't find out for a few days. As long as nobody (namely, ATRL) notices the archive links there should be at least a few days of free access. Toa Nidhiki05 02:58, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Like a Surgeon
[edit]First of all, you must be reading a different Ciara letter than I am, because the only single that she said her label told radio stations not to play was "Gimmie Dat". All she said about other songs was "there were time that i chose songs to lead a project but i was ignored". In translation, she's saying the songs she chose weren't released, but as she gave no titles, it is WP:OR to assume she's talking about certain songs. In addition, the radio1 source you have for june 15, 2009 has a number of remixes and internet inks that never hit radio or put on an album. According to that, Drake released five singles that day, while Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, and T.I. also released songs, (None of them are included on any of their albums or are considered to be singles. In that way, the site is unreliable, and everything on that page is false. As for the billboard source, its just a review that happened to be published on June 20, 2009. The reviewer most likely received the song at the time that all other sites first announced that it "will be" released. ( a critic needs time to write a review and get it published) The song may have been cancelled within that time (look at sweat, it premiered on june 4th and sites like Rap-Up said it will be released, but as you know in those two weeks between that and its planned digital release, it was CANCELLED) Plus in that same article, it reviews The-Dream's Walkin on the moon, which was released to radio on April 28th, according to Radio and records (R&R.com). So the publishing date has nothing to do with when it was released. The song is not listed on FMQB or R&R (which shows urban radio release archives)
If that's not enough she never even mentioned it in the summer of 2009 and didn't even perform it on her tour with Jay-Z IN THE US. Plus, as I know singles don't need music videos, NAME one Ciara single that does;t have a video. She even released one for Gimmie Dat when she had to pay for it herself (her videos are what she's known for).
So there is no source that gives a date of release for it, and by the time of that billboard article, it had already charted due to unsolicited radio airplay. So, there's no way to show it was released. I wanted it to be a single, because I was a fan that didn;t want her to give up on Fantasy Ride, but the fact is it wasn't.
Nothing says radio or CD single (not even digital download, which Work got in the US in December 2009). So please tell me in what way, shape, or form can you say that that song was released?--TheCountdown (talk) 03:22, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

- I've already read what you said; you just pasted the same thing on my talk that you posted on Unique's. They are singles, get over it. Statυs (talk) 03:29, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
No, they are not, if you actually took into consideration what I wrote, you would see that. Look at all the facts in everything I wrote. Please look beyond your static opinion, and see it as it really is, plus how did you know I posted this on another talk page?--TheCountdown (talk) 16:36, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- (small rational interjection) Can I point out that "Like a Surgeon" was serviced to radio as per the reference given and billboard even referred to the song as a single in its June Magazine. regardless of whether it was cancelled or not... Its release happened, the song went to radio and charted as a single. If it was cancelled two weeks after release thats fine but it was still a single however short the period. You cannot remove something which is correct with sources UNLESS an equally reliable source says that it wasn't a single. If something has a music video and a stand alone digital release its probably a single as per WP:DUCK. The fact its been referred to as a single by billboard which is the final nail in the coffin. In the words of a fine wikipedia drop the stick and slowly step away from the horse, its well and truly dead. Repeatedly edit warring will just lead to a block or , and thats not if somethinge else doesn't sting first. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 16:50, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Νο it isn't! Its the same, just joined the Enrique's tour in North America. Everything was fine until you edit them!!! officially Dance Again tour's concerts is 71. I know them, but all were made perfectly to the page and you blew it! Τhe part of the dance again tour is exactly the same but just a bit shorter. Its impossible JLo's tour doesn't have concerts in North America. Jennifer presents her show normal, apart from Enrique. As she did in other festivals that occurred!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alxthss (talk • contribs) 05:20, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Wrong! I don't know what about Enrique, but out of the concerts there is the logo of "dance again tour" everywhere. Hi! I see you are in a content dispute with Alxthss over Dance Again World Tour, yet neither of you seem to be discussing this on the talk page, nor following normal Wikipedia dispute resolution. I've protected the page as the dispute has turned into an edit war, and I expect you two to work out a solution, or get more eyes in. Any future edit warring could lead you to be blocked from editing. WormTT(talk) 07:43, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- You appear to have missed the various messages that I left the user asking him to stop doing what he was doing. And you must have also missed his refusal to do so, stating that he will continue to add tour dates that are not apart of a tour, because, and I quote: "Its impossible JLo's tour doesn't have concerts in North America". I'm also not a fan of receiving a generic message linking to polices that I'm obviously quite familiar with, given how long I've been a member here. Statυs (talk) 08:36, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- I sent you both an identical message, well aware that you've been chatting on each other's talk pages, which is unhelpful should you want other editors to actually help resolve the dispute. I'm not getting into the content dispute, the simple fact is, you and he disagree and were reverting each other. The message wasn't generic, it was written by me specifically based on this situation, and if you're quite familiar with the policies, you should be able to see the issues with your behaviour. WormTT(talk) 09:05, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hardly chatting; I've been trying to decode what they are even trying to say. He reverted me removing unsourced content from the article and adding things that are already in another article that have no relevance to the article in which he was adding the information to. Mind you he left no edit summaries of what he was doing, while I indeed did. If you think that I don't know what an edit war is and you feel the need to link me to the page on it, something's wrong. I was quite insulted by that, to be honest. Statυs (talk) 09:28, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, and from what is seen above, the user additionally claimed "I know them" and that "Its impossible JLo's tour doesn't have concerts in North America"—WP:OR. Apparently I also "blew it" when it comes to the article and "Everything was fine until you edit them". I left the user a civil message on their talk page asking them to stop. The user probably doesn't even know the article has a talk page, as their account seems to have been just created. Statυs (talk) 09:32, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, the editor is new, so perhaps a little more time explaining what needs to be done would be a good idea? Like it or not, you were reverting the new editors edits, over and over. That's an edit war, and yes, I'll link to it if I see users engaged in one. It's not intended to be insulting, but I do suggest you re-familiarise yourself with it. Yes, you had used edit summaries, and left them a talk page message which tells them they are wrong, but doesn't explain anything about how things work here. It's hardly surprising a new editor is unaware of edit summaries, policies or how to talk on talk pages. WormTT(talk) 09:48, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

- The user seemed familiar enough with them to blank them out completely, and know how to revert in the first place. I don't know why I said they probably don't know what the talk page; must be my insomnia speaking because the user seems pretty familiar with what they're doing. I don't seen an edit war at all. The user made no explanation of what they wanted to accomplish with their edits, in which I therefore told them and directed them to the page where that information should and does exist. The user also, in re-adding the material that does not belong in the article (which isn't up for debate, what-so-ever), removed copyediting and other things I did to the article; which clearly shows that the user knows what they are doing. At that time I noticed user BabbaQ was actively editing. As I know he is a member of the same project I left him a note to let him know there was an AfD if he wished to participate. I had never stated that the user must participate nor did I force the user to cast a keep !vote. I then proceeded to each of the respective article pages to continue posting AfD notifications in case members of WP:EURO don't have all pages on their watchlists - and believe me there are members who can't be bothered to add pages to a watchlist. I was unbeknown that BabbaQ was also posting the same notices across various article talk pages, it was the edit conflicts that made me aware, and it would have been darn right stupid to duplicate a post twice on one talk page. I have never been away that BabbaQ is a "99.9% keep" as he has participated in other AfD and has been known to vote delete, merger, redirect based on his own opinion of the case. The user who cast the accusation has acknowledged this but is refusing to retract their allegations - why I have no idea. But it is most unfair that they should acknowledge their allegation was wrong but not retract it entirely. As I cannot retract their statements myself, then I have no clue as to what action to take next other than escalate things further. Wesley Mouse 04:53, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. I advise to you to either post this on the RFD or link to it on the page so others will be aware of the whole situation. I find it very odd that the user will not retract their statement. Best, Statυs (talk) 04:57, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi
[edit]Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.Bleubeatle (talk) 13:23, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for notifying me of your concerns at my talk page. I know these two users can get a little out of hand with their replies but I've learned to stay civil and good faith to help resolve the matter faster. I've posted this issue on another page to get some assistance from other users/admins so don't worry too much about their replies. I have to go soon but I will comment on this matter later today. Thanks Bleubeatle (talk) 13:31, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for some very valid advice that you have given in a recent heated debate over AfD's etc. Some of the points that you have raised have really opened my eyes to a broader perspective. One of the main points you made helped me to understand that there could have been a misinterpretation of words written by one user, which lead to a incorrect canvassing caution being issued - I have since retracted that caution in hindsight of your advice. What concerns me now, is that there were a lot of guidance links being referenced in the two AfD discussions, and those links contradicted each other and left matters somewhat confusing - and if they can confuse myself who has been around here for a year now, then they most certainly would confuse a less established editor too. In light of that, I think that I need to open a new discussion at WT:ESC with the aim that all project members are able to find some common ground and avoid similar situations like this arising in the future. Is there any advice that you may be able to provide that would assist me in this? E.g. other areas that would be ideal to get involved to broaden the outlook? Such advice would be truly appreciated. Regards, (Wes) Wesley Mouse 15:30, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- You are most certainly welcome. I think that would be a great idea, as something of the sort is bound to happen again (rather sooner than later). Maybe an agreement should be made and a guideline created on what types of articles should be created, based on how notable the act is. Something like Wikipedia:WikiProject_Idol_series#Guidelines. Best, Statυs (talk) 15:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Without making myself sound like a stickler, would you be able to have a look at the project goals at WP:ESC too, as I think the main problem with articles for participants/songs potentially being created prematurely could stem from those. I can see why someone would want to create an article, in order to avoid redlinks on the Eurovision by Year pages. But it could be a case of just linking to country pages first, and then create the participant/song articles once we know who the "top 10" or even top-5 placings are. Participants within the top-10 placings have gone on to do more notable work in recent contest years. Wesley Mouse 15:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, the goals are quite conflicting on that page itself. It states: "The goal of this project is to create high quality articles and to maintain consistency in terms of layout and information." There are many articles that could not be expanded upon further to become high quality (meaning GA/FA, etc). I think the best bet, really, would be to create lists that, instead of just being small and linking to the entries and the groups, have a section on each about the entry. If the song is notable (have charted or received a certain amount of coverage to justify a separate article), a separate article should be created for it. It should still, however, be included in the list page, with a nice little "further information" tag. The project would be able to get a lot more done if this is the way it worked. In that, I mean getting articles to GA, FA, FL, whatever it may be. Out of 4.5k articles, half of them are either start or stub class. Statυs (talk) 15:58, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- It basically appears as if the main goal of the project is to create an article for every single entry, which isn't what should be the focus. Statυs (talk) 16:00, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Something like User:Status/Sandbox/ESC05, which would obviously be written better and sourced better as well. Statυs (talk) 16:04, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I thought as much. Project goal #2 is basically telling members to create an article for everything. Strange actually, as I had been thinking if the project itself needed a bit of reform to better improve itself, and even reformatting the main project page to give it more appeal to entice new membership too. Not sure though if going about a reform discussion is best, especially as I am relatively new to that project compared to users who have been a part of the project for years. What is the current stance on WikiProject reforms? Are they allowed to be done by anyone? Only just noticed your sandbox link during the EC will take a look now. And feel free to call me Wes, most people do - the full Wesley Mouse title sounds a bit cheesy (pardon the pun). Wesley Mouse 16:06, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm... I don't think I've ever seen something about reforms before. I don't see a problem with anybody doing one. I would maybe start a discussion on the talk page first, just to see how everybody feels about, as it looks as if there are quite a few active members of the project. And of course, with the list, the infobox could be used. Depending on the amount of information in the article List of Eurovision Song Contest 2005 entries (semi-finalists) and List of Eurovision Song Contest 2005 entries (finalists) could, for example, be created. Statυs (talk) 16:11, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- And will do. Feel free to cal me Zach, most people don't, but I prefer it. I hate when people call me Status. :L Statυs (talk) 16:13, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Ahh thanks Zach, those ideas for articles sound like a massive improvement and would prevent premature article creations too, plus unnecessary AfD and the over-heated debates that come with them. I've left a note at the ANI discussion informing people that this matter appears to be resolving itself, and that we are currently discussion proposals on how to better improve the situation including potential project reforms to improve operations. Wesley Mouse 16:22, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- No problemo. I always love thinking of new ideas and ways to update things. If you need anything else, just ask. It would also make it much easier to get some GAs, FAs, FLs, etc. which is always a plus for a project. ;) Statυs (talk) 16:24, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oh believe me I love GAs. I recently got Eurovision Song Contest 2012 to GA status, and felt so proud of myself as it was the project's first ESC by year article to achieve such an accolade. Inspired me to want to gain more GAs for the project. In regards to reform ideas, I am a member of WP:OLY as I love the Olympics (just done some volunteering at the London games, and got the paras prep in a few days time). Anyhow, their project home page looks so inviting to the eye, and something like that would be ideal for WP:EURO with the obvious adapting to suit Eurovision. Wesley Mouse 16:36, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, yeah, I know the feeling. Woah! That's really cool! Yes, it is very nice looking. Something I did on a WikiProject I oversee, I removed all the members (since a lot were inactive) and left each a message on their talk asking if they would like to continue with the project that they re-sign up for the project. 16:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

- Well you noticed I have started the discussion on project reform (very brave move of me I know). I have now opened it wider by adding RFC tags for a more broader perspective on the matter. DYK for Teeology
[edit]On 13 August 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Teeology, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Teeology.com, an e-commerce co-founded by Jennifer Lopez, uses new technology and social network tools to "disrupt the traditional retail model"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Teeology. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Also why do insist the 2012 title should be "Dance Again Tour"?..I reckon it should be Dance Again The Hits, because Dance again and Goin' In (sort of) are linked to the album, and much more focuses on her releasing an album rather then tour. Just saying. I mean yea the tour is a big deal but there isn't a lot to talk about. —ArreJLover 13:18, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Because the greatest hits album is a small release that basically nobody knows about it. It was basically released to promote the tour. Statυs (talk) 13:21, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- It wasn't a small release, it just flopped without promotion or her giving two stuff about it. Nevertheless Dance Again Tour is still to support the GH album. Anyway, yea I should do that..Idk I'm lazy I'll try though :) —ArreJLover 13:23, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well if the tour is in the heading, some information should be written about her performance. —ArreJLover 13:24, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

RE: Just Be Free
[edit]Maybe I'm wrong, I probably am but I am just a little confused with the chronology thing. Sweat
[edit]Hi Status,
"Like a Surgeon" was a different story because it was sent to radio and digital release was never planned. Billboard specifically ran an article regarding the former saying that it was a single. "Sweat" was called a single up until its release where in Billboards chart listings it was called a promotional single. Quite simple really. its not as easy as saying song sent to radio = single. It depends on what was said by the label and/or reliable sources. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 18:19, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
